Day 6

I was MIA yesterday, perhaps because I did not want to admit that I broke down and had a glass of wine on the 4th.  I am mad at myself.......I guess I will just try again.  I did not drink last night and have no desire to do so tonight.

Yesterday, I went and did some consulting for another ortho office and when I got home, I just decided to relax.  I didn't eat anything bad, but I didn't work out either.  I guess I will make that my "day of rest" for the week.

Today, my daughter and I hiked the Avila ridge and finished with a jog.  Eating so far so good!  I will log it in my fitness pal.

If I were to be honest though, I think I can give this a little more effort. What I am not documenting are the "just one bite" things and they probably add up.  Today I actually took a bite of a taco bell taco and spit it out....Yikes!  One thing that I struggle with is over eating.  I seriously can eat like a man.  I am constantly hungry no matter what kind of food I am eating.  How do I get past that?  How do I get that "full" feeling?

4th of July

I didn't blog last night and I have to admit that it was because I am so on the fence about this no drinking on the 4th thing.  My reaction is telling me that it is a problem.  I am from a family of alcoholics and I have those tendencies.  About a year ago, I started drinking nightly and my 1 glass of wine turned into a half bottle and I had noticed that I would think about my wine during the day.  That is when my sweet daughter called me out on it.  I decided that I would only drink on special occasions and on the weekends.  That went ok, but I am noticing that I still look forward to the weekend and special occasions, not just because of the wine, but it is definately up there in the bonus section.

I also know that drinking wine leads to eating and making bad food decisions, so earlier in the week I had decided to abstain from drinking on the 4th of July.  After I made that decision, I wanted to take it back and I have been wanting to take it back all week.............Soooo  here it goes:  I will not drink tonight or this weekend!

Just reading this makes me want to delete it LOL.  In addition to that declaration, I will also go to my insanity boot camp, I will eat sensibly.  I will not snack on bad things at our BBQ tonight.  For dinner, I will have chicken, grilled veggies and white bean chili (so healthy and good for you that I feel I should post it for the other girls in this challenge and I will when the facebook page is made).

Ok I am hitting post now so it will be out there in cyber land.

End of day 2

What did I learn today?  I need to be prepared!  I had not been grocery shopping in a week and did not have healthy, fresh choices available to me.  I thought I was doing the best I could with what I had until I imputed my calories into my fitness pal.  It wasn't horrible, but certainly could have been better.  I have had 6  glasses of water and it is 9:30 pm......To meet my goal I must chug 2 more glasses of water (I guess I will burn extra calories getting up to pee in the middle of the night).  As far as today's goals go, I did not succeed with my calorie intake and I let people get to me (in all fairness, they were really quite obnoxious and rude).

Here are tomorrows goals:

  • AM work out
  • Juicing with protien
  • Drink 8 glasses of water
  • Try again with the positive attitude

Off to bed, good night!

DAY 2

Well, I have never had a blog before, but why not start now.  I figured this would be good place to write my goals and make it public so Kristen can spy on me.  I have already worked out this morning and here are my goals for today:

  • Drink 8 glasses of water
  • Go to Insanity boot camp tonight
  • Keep it to 1200 calories
  • Go to grocery store and buy good clean food
  • Have a positive attitude and not let others affect me in a negative way
  • Take time tonight to write out tomorrows goals and my long term goals
  • Here is the big one!!!!.......Tomorrow night, I want to officially declare a decision to abstain from drinking on the 4th of July....Can I do it?
Ok, Here I go!
